Weekly Update #24 - Balance


New graphic changes to the dungeon board and some small balance changes await in patch 646. The updated look of the dungeon board cards will hopefully fit in more with the gritty fantasy theme of Numentale. I'm also very excited to share some future plans for the next short while! Take a look. 

Dungeon Board

  • The dungeon board cards and icons have been significantly improved!
  • Some changes have been made to the dungeon board decorations
  • Fog has been removed from the boss card

Balance

  • Nihilo's bloodlust now takes 6 fury to cast and max fury has increased to 6
    • Healing percent of bloodlust has been changed from 20% to 15%
  • Nimble's execution cooldown 5 --> 4
    • Execution damage +100% --> +130%
  • Initial weapon stats have been increased
  • Character initial stats have been rebalanced slightly
  • Bosses now scale increasingly harder the further you get in the dungeon
  • Fixed a bug where resilience wouldn't increase with the burgeoning artifact
  • A row of curse rooms is now added after every 40 rooms in Chosen difficulty

So this week's changes are fairly small due to having to work on a lot of graphics and design more plans for the future. Over the next coming weeks, I'll be working on a few changes to systems that allow it to be easier to balance the game and make various systems more rewarding. Being worked on currently are:

  • Character-specific path tree
  • Leveling system for the dungeon
  • Non-inflated reward systems
  • Character-specific gears and loot distribution

There are a LOT more changes after this. The god system and missions system are some of the more exciting ones, however these are the next on the list. I'm really excited to share more about these changes and even bring more in the next patch! Until next week! :) --Zak
